The day of the entrance exam is just around the corner and Wizzy doesn’t want to waste any time. As usual, he sits in his favorite spot in front of the big window. He has been tirelessly preparing for the entrance exam recently and tiredness is slowly catching up with him. Time flies and the little wizard’s eyelids grow heavier and heavier. And so, without Wizzy noticing, the world around him slowly goes black until he sinks into a deep sleep.
Several hours later, Wizzy wakes up from his slumber. He quickly realizes that it is now dark outside and that he has been left all alone in the library. He hastily sits up and jumps out of his chair. His notebook reacts quickly and indignantly to the fact that it has spent quite a long time in an awkward position. Still slightly confused, Wizzy slowly begins to realize what kind of situation he is in. Fear rises in him, all alone, in the academy at night. The little magician must now summon up all his courage and manage to overcome his fear of the dark in order to leave the academy.
For Wizzy, the second game I developed with MidnightMagic, I also took the role of the producer / project manager for the first time. The project follow a classic project management approach – which wasn’t the best decission, considering the individual puzzles and the block-based approach of the project would have been easier to develop in an agile project management structure.
The game was developed during my second semester using Unity and C#. As the sole programmer of the project, I wrote the entire code and puzzle-system, while managing the rest of the team as a producer / project manager.
